President to open ‘Diyadam Uyana’ tomorrow

The Holuwagoda ‘Diyadam Uyana’ in Galle which was built at a cost of Rs. 480 million from funds allocated to the Plantation Industries Ministry will be opened by President Ranil Wickremesinghe tomorrow (13).

Diyadam Uyana has many facilities like a children’s park, shopping mall, walking tracks, agro-markets, boat services, etc.

The area is also to be further developed as a market for organic products, creating many direct and indirect employment opportunities.

As an agro-ecological park, many elements including freshwater fish farms have been built in this park, contributing to green tourism.

The Urban Development Authority has provided the necessary technical input for this project which was initiated by Health and Plantation Industries Minister Dr. Ramesh Pathirana.
