President to visit India next week

President Anura Kumara Dissanayake is set to visit India between December 15 and 17, and this is his first overseas visit as head of state, Cabinet Spokesman, Minister Dr. Nalinda Jayatissa said.

He was speaking at the weekly Cabinet media briefing held yesterday at the Government Information Department.

Minister Jayatissa further said that the President is scheduled to meet Indian President Droupadi Murmu and Prime Minister Narendra Modi during his visit. Foreign Minister Vijitha Herath and Deputy Finance Minister Dr. Harshana Sooriyapperuma will accompany the President.
