President visits Sri Lanka Sustainable Energy Authority

President Gotabaya Rajapaksa visited the Sri Lanka Sustainable Energy Authority at Ananda Coomaraswamy Mawatha, Colombo 7 on an inspection tour yesterday morning (18). The President met Sustainable Energy Authority officials to urgently discuss how renewable sources of electricity such as water, solar energy and wind could be best utilized within a short-term to resolve the current energy crisis. The aim of the Government is to utilize renewable energy sources to meet 70% of the country’s energy requirement by 2030 in accordance with the President’s ‘Vistas of Prosperity’ policy vision.The President also discussed delays in granting approval for the applications submitted for new renewable energy projects.
