President’s decision to increase salaries of public servants based Cabinet approval

No other politician in our country has been insulted and ridiculed as much as President Ranil Wickremesinghe. But we have never heard him criticizing or blaming other politicians. We always knew that Ranil Wickramasinghe is a genius. That’s why everyone criticized him. But during the last two years, Hon. Ranil Wickramasinghe has proved to the whole world that he is a capable leader, said the Minister of Agriculture and Plantation Industries, Mr. Mahinda Amaraweera.

The minister said this while addressing a public meeting held in Tissamaharama area yesterday (24). The minister expressed these views while meeting the organizers of the Sri Lanka Freedom Party, the United National Party and the Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna in the Tissamaharamaya area for the victory of President Ranil Wickremesinghe.

Deputy Speaker Mr. Ajith Rajapaksa participated in this event and the majority of members of the Tissamaharamaya Municipal Council said that they are dedicated to the victory of Mr. Ranil Wickramasinghe.

In the coming period, television media organizations will have to broadcast breaking news for more time in the day. Because of Mrs. Talatha Athukorala, a large number of MPs and political groups will join with President Ranil Wickremesinghe in the future to express their support. It should be said that those people are members of various parties and groups as well as members of the opposition.

Today the public opinion is with the Hon. President. Because if Mr. Ranil Wickramasinghe had not accepted this challenge when this country collapsed economically, our country would have collapsed by now. There would have been a situation where the people of the country would die of hunger. Every decision we take as a government is made according to the agreement of the International Monetary Fund and not against it. Anura and Sajith had said that when the salary of the government employees was increased, then the agreement would not be violated.

The salary of government employees was increased according to a decision taken by the government. Not only did the Cabinet approve the decision, but a committee was appointed for it and the committee’s approval was obtained. And that decision has been agreed upon according to the agreement of the International Monetary Fund.

Therefore, increasing the salary of public servants and increasing the retirement allowance is a basic requirement of the country. There has never been such a government in history that has increased the salaries of public servants. If we can provide such concessions when there is an economic crisis in the country, we can make great progress in all sectors of the country in the next two or three years.

Dr. Nandalal Weerasinghe, our Central Bank Governor, joined the ranks of the world’s greatest central bank governors. The work schedule carried out by President Ranil Wickramasinghe as the Minister of Finance also led to that. All these achievements are due to the excellent leadership of the President.

Because of this, all survey reports have revealed that Mr. Ranil Wickramasinghe will win this presidential election. All the people of North, South, East and West know that the country’s progress is decided on the victory of Mr. Ranil Wickramasinghe. Previously, we conducted elections divided into UNP, Sri Lanka, Pohottuwa, Muslim, Tamil and Sinhalese and so forth.

But the minister also mentioned that all of these people are working on the same platform to make President Ranil Wickremesinghe win.
