Prisons open for visitors on 13, 14 and 15

The Prisons Department has given a special opportunity for the prisoners to meet visitors on April 13, 14 and 15 for the Sinhala and Hindu New Year.

The Prisons Department informs that the relatives visiting the prisoners on that day could bring a parcel of food and sweets enough for one person.

Apart from this, New Year rituals according to auspicious times are to be performed in all the Prisons.

The prison rehabilitation department has taken measures to hold New Year celebrations, music programmes, including avurudu games during the period.
