Priya Suriyasena passes away

Veteran singer Priya Suriyasena passed away at the age of 80 while undergoing treatment at Colombo National Hospital yesterday morning (24).

Born on October 27, 1944, Priya Suriyasena made his debut in the music industry in 1968, captivating audiences with his baila songs. He quickly became an iconic figure in Sri Lankan music, creating some of the most cherished songs, including Adaraneeya Neranjana, Ratakin Eha, Sudu Paravi and Rena Atha Ranviman among others.

His body will be placed at his residence on Pasal Mawatha, Gangodawila, Nugegoda, from today (25) morning for public viewing and respects.
