Priyamali case: Two actresses fail to turn up at CID again

Two popular local actresses failed to turn up at the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) for the second time yesterday to provide statements over their contacts with the arrested financial scammer Thilini Priyamali, who is currently in remand custody.

A senior police officer stated that they have been called to the CID not as suspects but only to record statements.

Actress Semini Iddamalgoda also recorded her statement for four hours with the CID earlier in connection with this case and it seems that she has also become a victim of the crimes committed by Thilini Priyamali. Two announcers who had worked in Thilini Priyamali’s company also have recorded statements with the CID while another few individuals including actresses, models and an actor who is currently engaged in politics are also yet to record statements in this regard, the senior officer further said.

The CID will take steps to report facts to court and obtain an order against the two actresses if they do not arrive at the CID to record statements, CID sources said.
