Probe into Kandy Samurdhi managers attending NPP meeting during office hours

The Kandy Election Office has launched an investigation into an incident in which a group of Kandy District Samurdhi Managers, who are said to be connected to the National People’s Power had attended a political meeting during working hours.

According to the Kandy election office, certain Samurdhi managers had gone to the meeting mentioning matters such as agriculture committee, loan enquiry, investigation of investment activities in the exit documents.

The report also states that some Samurdhi managers who attended the meeting have applied for election duties. The Kandy Election Office has taken steps to inform the Director General of Samurdhi about the incident and obtain a report.The meeting had been held at a hotel in the Wales Park area in Kandy.
