A person who protested against the Minuwangoda police by climbing the pillar at Naiwala junction in Veyangoda, was arrested by a sub-inspector of the Veyangoda police who climbed the pillar and brought down the protester on his shoulders.
Yesterday (19) afternoon, a father protested by climbing the pillar at Naiwala junction in Veyangoda, stating that his son was arrested for a crime he did not commit and was produced before the court on drug charges and remanded in custody.
It was revealed that the remanded youth is a 24-year-old resident of Udugampala area in the Minuwangoda police area of authority.
The mother of the young man who was remanded, said that on July 12, her son was arrested by the Minuwangoda police while riding a motorcycle on one wheel on the Udugampala Minuwangoda road with a group of friends, and that later he was produced in court on drug charges.
