The Government has taken steps to introduce ‘digital government forms’ by providing a digital solution in such a way that filling of forms related to government services can be done from home.
A digital solution called ‘digital government forms’ has been introduced where people can complete the forms and get the services online.
The Sri Lanka Information and Communication Technology Agency (ICTA) said that people can access this service from anywhere through a device such as computers, mobile phones and tabs.
This digital government form solution was successfully launched in 2022 focusing for nine government institutions as a pilot project and the traditional way of coming to government offices to get forms, filling them and returning them has been almost completely stopped.
By being able to get services from home without visiting the government offices, time and money will be saved and this will enable public sector services to be provided to the people in a very efficient and effective manner as a citizen-centric service. In this way, the security of citizen data is confirmed, personal data is not exposed, and there is the ease of quick reference to data in the provision of services.
Going paperless also leads to an environment-friendly public service and frees public services from the burden of managing, maintaining, protecting and storing paper documents.
One of the advantages of this is that the necessary information of the citizens can be obtained directly from them and its reliability is confirmed.
