Randolph heads St.Benedict’s soccer wing
The newly formed St.Benedicts’ college soccer wing had the AGM held recently at the College swimming pool complex.

St. Benedict’s College has been one of the top soccer playing schools in the past. The main aim is to bring high standard of soccer back to the school by way of encouraging and promoting young footballers from the grass root level.
SBC has produced many classy footballers in the past from ealry 1920’s .Former sports mInister V.A .Sugatahdasa ,Albert Fernando, Denzil Walles ,Nevile Cassichetty ,Edward Jayawardena.Rozen Rodrigo, Lluwellyn Rayen,Vije Silva, Evens Balasuriya,T.Wanigaratnam, Dr.Collin Fernandopulle ,Tilak Peiris, Donald Bastianpillai, Tissa Kodituawakku ,Benildus Fernando, Damien Fernando ,Benjamin Ranabahu , Amalraj Miranda.Martin De Porres , Lakshman Caldera ,Damodaram Chandrasiri, Anura De Silva, Adrian Vindurampulle ,Alfred Dias,Waldo Fernando, Malcolm Rodrigo, Zeno Fenando are few of the past soccerites to name.
Many of the Benedictine footballers have also donned the national jersey . Anura De Silva had been the past captain and past president of the Sri Lanka Football Ferderation and Tilak Peiris is one of the founder membesr and heading the Soccer Masters Association for several years.
With the fullest co-operation of the energetic present Director of , St Benedicts College Rev, Bro Pubudu Rajapakshe and president of the present wing, Randolph Perera who was also the former captain of the school team and the FA Cup champion team of the Old Bens S.C -1990, and the secretaty Trevin Ramanaden who represented Sri Lanka schools under 19 team the aim is to bring back the glory days of yesteryear.
