Ratnapura New Town Park construction gets underway at a cost of Rs. 100 million

The inauguration of the construction of Ratnapura New Town Park took place yesterday (27) at a cost of Rs. 100 million with the participation of Sabaragamuwa Provincial Governor Navin Dissanayake and Provincial Councils (PC) and Local Government (LG) Acting Minister, Janaka Wakkumbura.

The Sabaragamuwa PC and the Sri Lanka Army are jointly carrying out construction work and it is expected to be completed within four months.

Dissanayake, commenting said that Sri Lanka needs a head of State, like Anura Tennakoon, who was a famous talented cricketer of the 70s. He is one of the five best batsmen in our country’s cricket history. They are Aravinda de Silva, Kumar Sangakkara, Mahela Jayawardene, Roy Dias and Anura Tennakoon.

Anura Tennakoon was a talented batsman who represented Sri Lanka in the 70s and 80s. He played for the Sri Lankan team batting two down. Tennakoon did not hit many sixes or fours. He played through the gaps and collected ones and twos controlling the match. Tennakoon managed to bring the team to some stability after an hour of staying at the wicket. Tennakoon is a technically sound batsman.

“We need someone like Anura Tennakoon to lead the country now. President Ranil Wickramasinghe gradually freed the country from economic, social and legal crisis because he led the country from such a policy. We need good batsmen who can increase the number of runs, even in the midst of a thousand problems and in the midst of intense pressure and difficulties,” he added.

Therefore, the responsibility of choosing such a talented batsman is entrusted to the intelligent people of this country. The people of the country can make a good decision in the future in a few months, he went on to say.
