Rohitha pledges support to President

Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP) National Convener and Kalutara District Leader Rohitha Abeygunawardena MP yesterday said he will extend support to President Ranil Wickremesinghe at the upcoming Presidential Election.

Speaking at an event held in Kalutara, Abeygunawardena said that he made the decision responding to the requests of party supporters. He stressed that his decision is not a move against SLPP Leader Mahinda Rajapaksa.

However, he added that there are no permanent friends or permanent enemies in politics. Abeygunawardena also identified the SJB and the JVP as his political rivals.
