Sanath and Sidath gave good support to develop Sri Lanka Cricket, says Harin

Players like Sanath Jayasuriya and Sidath Wettimuny gave good support to develop Sri Lanka Cricket in a big way said Sports Minister at the presentation ceremony of the inaugural ICCA champions trophy tournament held at MCA grounds on Wednesday.Former Sri Lanka skipper and present SLC overall cricket Consultant Sanath Jayasuriya and former Sri Lanka opener Sidath Wettimuny were present on the occasion and Sports Minister pointed out both former players as role models for young cricketers.

This Academy tournament gave good exposure as four of the countrys junior cricketers were involved in it said Sports Minister Harin Fernando who was the chief guest at the finals on Wednesday at the MCA grounds in Wijerama Mawatha.

Sanath Jayasuriya can talk on how he became a Master Blaster and it’s good for young cricketers to learn from him.

Entire cricket structure in Sri Lanka had been changed after 1996 world cup and we hope to make good cricket and today Sanath Jayasuriya is expected to make better cricket in Sri Lanka.As I always say occupy the crease don’t give up and let them go forward and this is a good message to all said Minister Harin Fernando.

I think these young boys from Cricket Academies one day will reach National level and I wish them success for their future concluded Sports Minister.
