Sanduni Nisansala outstanding athlete, cricketer and spiker

Volleyball player , School Athletic Champion, , Right hand middle order bat, Right arm off spinner and Safe fielder, Premier and Super Provincial Cricketer, Sri Lanka Girls Emerging Squad Member Kahathuduge Sanduni Nisansala Silva has brought honour and immense glory to her two schools St.Peters College Negombo and Rathnavali Balika Vidyalaya Gampaha with her deeds in the field of sports.

Sanduni was born on 18 th September 2006 and her first class teacher was Mrs.Princy. Up to grade six she did not take any interest in sports and her Parents Jayantha Silva and G.Dhammika encouraged her to do at least one sport and she took up to Volleyball in 2011. Initially she was selected to the under 12 Volleyball team and represented the school team annually up to 2016 and Captained the under 15 team. Her school participated at the Divisional, Zonal and District Tournaments and won places and at the Provincial they could not come up to expectations.

When she was in grade nine in 2009 she participated in the School Inter House Sports Meet and swept the board in 100 and 200 metres and in High Jump and became the under 15 Champion and in the following year too she was the School Champion but she did not go further and her Coach and Master in Charge was Mr.Dilruk.

When she was in grade ten she joined the Ladies Cricket Club Nittambuwa and came under Mr.Chaminda and participated in the Division Two Tournament organized by Sri Lanka Cricket and scored a Century Versus Badulla and in 2018 she joined Chilaw Marians and is still playing for them. Then she passed the ‘O’ Levels in 2017 and drafted to Rathnavali Balika Vidyalaya Gampaha and she walked in to their under 19 Cricket team with ease and participated in the Schools Singer Tournament and in 2018 she played in the Big Match Versus Anula Vidyalaya. Then in 2019 too she played in few school matches and played for the final match against Devepathiraja Vidyalaya and fared well with the bat. Her Principal Mrs.Hema Jayawardene is always supportive for Cricket.
