A special price reduction has been made by Lanka Sathosa on several essential consumer commodities providing relief to the public.
Lanka Sathosa has reduced prices of five essential food items effective January 30 to provide relief to the consumers on the directives by the Trade, Commerce and Food Security Ministry. These food items can be purchased by the consumers from any of the Sathosa retails outlets available countrywide.
Prices of Big Onions (imported), Wheat Flour, White Sugar, Red Lentils and White Kekulu Rice (imported) have been reduced by Lanka Sathosa. Accordingly, 1 Kg of imported Big Onions which was sold at Rs.230 has been brought down to Rs.220 with a saving of Rs.10.
The new price of a kilo of Wheat Flour has been reduced to Rs.165 from its previous price of Rs.175 providing a saving of Rs.10.White Sugar 1 Kg is now sold at Rs. 235 with a price reduction of Rs.5 from its previous price of Rs.240. Price of Red Lentils 1 Kg has been reduced by Rs.3 from its previous price of Rs.288 and is now sold at Rs.285.
The new price of 1 Kg of White Kekulu Rice is Rs.209 reduced from its previous price of Rs.210 with a saving of one rupee per kilo.
