School Water Polo finals postponed for second time

The Inter-schools Water Polo finals, organized by the Sri Lanka Schools Aquatic Sports Association, faced another delay for the second time and are now rescheduled for the end of January or early February 2024, as announced yesterday.

It was planned for yesterday at the Sri Lanka Air Force Swimming Complex in Ratmalana, the finals for both Under-16 and Under-19 categories for both girls and boys were affected because many players had gone on overseas family tours during the festive season. The event was initially scheduled for last Sunday but was postponed to yesterday due to lightning on December 10.

The matchups were set with Royal College and S Thomas’ College facing off in the Under-16 Boys finals, while Bishop’s College and Visakha Vidyalaya emerged as the Under-16 girls finalists.

In the Under-19 category, Royal College was set to compete against S Thomas’ College, and Ladie’s College and Bishop’s College were the finalists for the Under-19 girls.
