Search for missing T-56 weapon

The Puttalam Police received a complaint yesterday (13) about a T-56 weapon which had gone missing from the Puttalam Army Camp on February 9.

Police information stated that 21 firearms were issued to the soldiers who were deployed on night duty and at around 2.00 am, the soldiers completed their duties and handed over the firearms.

It had later been found that one firearm was missing when the relevant officials counted them to be handed over to the armoury.

A search had been conducted inside the camp for the weapon but the weapon is has still not been found.
