Second Reading of Online Safety Bill to be debated on Jan.23

The Second Reading of the Online Safety Bill is scheduled to be debated on January 23 and 24, as per a decision taken by the Committee  on Parliamentary Business which was held today,”  Parliamentary Secretary General Kushani Rohanadeera. said.

It has also been decided to convene Parliament only on January 23 and 24, next week since Duruthu Poya day falls on January  25th.

Accordingly, the second reading debate of the bill will begin at 9.30 am and will continue until 5:00 pm.

Meanwhile, it has been decided to allocate one hour to appreciate the service rendered by current  Serjeant-at-Arms,  Narendra Fernando, who is set to retire.
