Former President Mahinda Rajapaksa’s wife, Shiranthi Rajapaksa, has informed the Police Financial Crimes Investigation Division (FCID) that she is unable to appear today (27) due to personal reasons.
According to the Police, the notification was made in writing through her lawyer.
She had previously been summoned to appear at 9:00 am today to provide a statement regarding investigations into alleged financial irregularities linked to the “Siriliya” account maintained during former President Mahinda Rajapaksa’s tenure.
However, citing personal reasons, Shiranthi Rajapaksa has requested a two‑week extension to appear before the FCID on a later date. (Newswire)
