Six arrested for rape of 14-year-old girl

Six suspects who allegedly raped a 14-year-old girl were arrested yesterday (06) by Kiridiwela Police.

Police say that among the suspects is a 73-year-old relative of the girl.

Investigations have revealed that the girl was first raped by the relative who is a resident of Happitiya, Waturugama.

“The other suspects are 14, 16, 17, 18, 19 years old respectively,” Police said.

Among those suspects, four are residents of Waturugama Happitiya and only one is a resident of Warakapola Kammalewatte.

Investigations have revealed that the girl has been in a relationship with these five suspects.

This girl was first raped by her relative in 2021.

Since then, the Police say that she has been repeatedly raped by others.

The girl has been submitted to a medical examination and the six suspects were to be presented in Court.
