SJB challenges NPP’s economic council for debate

SJB MP Nalin Bandara said that he will once again challenge the economic group of the National People’s Power (NPP) for a public debate with the Samagi Jana Balawegaya’s Economic Group. MP Nalin Bandara made this challenge participating in the press conference held at the Opposition Leader’s Office in Colombo yesterday (27).

Bandara mentioned that former MP Sunil Handunnetti had stated that their government will restructure the debt, but they have not yet said how the debt will be restructured.

Bandara mentioned that the National People’s Power’s proposals to strengthen the country’s economy and debt restructuring are not practical and the National People’s Power does not have a competent team to implement their proposals.

There are Dr.Harsha de Silva, Eran Wickramaratne and Kabir Hashim in the economic committee of Samagi Janabalavegaya. And now the National People’s Power has also formed an Economic Council.

There are two professors along with Sunil Handunnetti in that economic council, he said.

The Economic Committee of the National People’s Power was invited for the seventh time to come to a public debate with the SJB Economic Committee.”We challenge the Economic Council of the National People’s Power to come to a public meeting with the Economic Committee of the SJB if possible. The SJB also met with the International Monetary Fund.
