SJB failed as the main Opposition in the previous Parliament- Manusha Nanayakkara

Former Minister Manusha Nanayakkara yesterday said that the Samagi Jana Balavegaya (SJB) had failed to fulfill the main Opposition’s role in the previous Parliament.

Speaking at a New Democratic Front (NDF) public rally in Galle, he said, as the SJB and the Party leadership failed to play the role of a responsible and effective Opposition, NPP leader Anura Kumara Dissanayake came into fill that vacuum and taken steps to improve the NPP image in the public eye.

“The NPP had only 3 Seats in Parliament. They came to the fore because the SJB failed” he added. These people did not play the role of the Opposition. They will not play the role of the Opposition in the future. I think they will fall to 3rd place in this election” he added.

He went on to say that the NDF is well organised and the Gas Cylinder symbol is steadily becoming popular among the people. “The whole country understands that President Ranil Wickremesinghe and his team rebuilt the country. People now have regrets about what happened. The people will rectify that at the next election” he added.
