SJB names Sajith Premadasa as Prime Ministerial candidate

The Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB) and Opposition Leader Sajith Premadasa has been unanimously named as the Prime Ministerial candidate of the Samagi Jana Sandhanaya for the upcoming General Election.

This unanimous decision was made and approved during a party meeting of the Samagi Jana Sandhanaya yesterday (24) solidifying the leadership of Sajith Premadasa within the coalition.

It has been decided at the meeting yesterday of the SJB alliance that it will begin preparations for the upcoming General Election with Premadasa leading the campaign.

Premadasa also dispelled all rumours clarifying that there is no collaboration between himself and former President Ranil Wickremesinghe to form an alliance to contest the upcoming General Election.

Sajith Premadasa also expressed his gratitude to the supporters following his electoral loss in the Presidential election which was concluded recently and said that his commitment to Sri Lanka’s progress will continue regardless of the outcome of the Presidential Election result while acknowledging the support he received from various communities across Sri Lanka.
