SJB’s Attanayake takes dig at JVP’s Hadunneththi

Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB) National Organiser and Member of Parliament Tissa Attanayake said that a JVP member who is having dreams about becoming the next Finance Minister is going around saying that if a JVP government comes to power, they will take control of all the money in the banks.

Attanayake made these comments while speaking at a SJB election rally in Eheliyagoda.

He further said, “I don’t want to talk about the JVP. The people can gauge the size of their brains from the stories they tell. What kind of economic crisis is the country facing? There is a financial crisis locally. There is a foreign exchange crisis. What solutions does the JVP have for these?

“JVP leader Anura Kumara Dissanayake says there are two ways to solve the country’s economic issues. He says 2,000 ships will be brought to Trincomalee Port and they will be used to earn US Dollars. He says the oil tanks will be cleaned and filled with oil and sold for dollars. Here are their solutions.

“Sunil Hadunneththi who dreams of becoming the JVP government’s Finance Minister says that there are three solutions to solve the country’s economic problem. He says foreign debt will not be paid. Second, all the money available in the banks will be allocated for the development of the country. Thirdly, he says the money needed by the government should be found by selling the state assets.”
