SLC appoints Ratnayake as interim coach for Zimbabwe series

Sri Lanka Cricket has appointed Rumesh Ratnayake as the interim coach of the national team for the upcoming Zimbabwe tour of Sri Lanka. This was officially announced yesterday.

Ratnayake, the former National fast bowler, is currently serving as a fast bowling coach at the High-Performance Center. Ruvin Peiris was appointed as the batting coach of the national team. Peiris is attached to the High-Performance Center as a batting coach. His appointment is also an interim arrangement.

Meanwhile, Mahela Jayawardena, the Consultant Coach of the ‘National Teams’, will leave for West Indies on January 9 to join the U19 Team, which is already in the Caribbean, to take part in the ICC U19 Men’s Cricket World Cup.
