SLFP Central Committee pledges fullest support to President

The Sri Lanka Freedom Party (SLFP) Central Committee yesterday pledged fullest support to ensure the victory of President Ranil Wickremesinghe at the upcoming Presidential Election. The SLFP Central Committee officially informed the party’s decision to the President yesterday. The President while hailing the party’s decision said that  the country can be brought forward when all are united.

Speaking on the occasion, the President said that his intention was to take  the country forward by obtaining the support of each and every and every one while some parties are involved in conventional politics.

The President said that this is the first time that all parties joined for a cause after the formation of UNP in 1946 by former Prime Ministers D.S.Senanayake and SWRD Bandaranaike.

He said that he will take the opinions of all parties into consideration when developing the country and framework will be formulated to rebuild the country based on consensus in the future.
