Anuradhapura District SLPP MP K. H. Nandasena passed away yesterday. The SLPP Kekirawa electorate organizer Gamage Weerasena is to fill the vacancy created by the death of MP K. H. Nandasena. G. Weerasena is next on the SLPP list for the Anuradhapura District.

Nandasena (69) passed away yesterday following an illness. He contested the 2020 Parliamentary Election and was elected to Parliament. Meanwhile Acting Secretary General of Parliament Chaminda Kularathna has informed Election Commission Chairman that a Parliamentary seat in the Ninth Parliament has become vacant from April 4, 2024, following the demise of MP H.Nandasena, representing the Anuradhapura Constituency. The Acting Secretary General has further mentioned that this notification is made in terms of the Section 64(1) of the Parliamentary Elections Act No. 1 of 1981.
