The Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP) has unanimously decided to appoint former MP Namal Rajapaksa, the party’s National Organiser and to the National List seat allocated to the SLPP.
SLPP General Secretary Sagara Kariyawasam stated that the party has decided to submit Namal Rajapaksa’s name to the Election Commission.
Speaking at a press conference held at the SLPP headquarters in Battaramulla, Kariyawasam highlighted the party’s acknowledgement of the public mandate.
“We respect the people’s mandate. We have secured two parliamentary seats at the district level and one seat from the National List. We will continue to work closely with the public as we move forward,” he remarked.
