Soththi Upali’s ‘daughter’, four others arrested

A woman who is said to be the daughter of former underworld gang leader Soththi Upali, has been arrested by the police along with four other people.

The police said that she was arrested in a raid conducted by a team of the Mawathagama Police in the Augustawatta area of Kandy.

The raid had been conducted by the police based on information that a group of underworld gang members were hiding in a house in the Mawathagama area.

The suspects have been handed over to the Kandy police for further investigation.
