Speaker endorses certificate on several bills

Speaker Mahinda Yapa Abeywardena announced to the Parliament today (02) that he endorsed the certificate on several bills yesterday (01) which were passed in the Parliament in recent past.

Speaker has endorsed the certification on the bills titled Secured Transaction, Registration of Documents (Amendment), Trust Receipts (Amendment), Mortgage (Amendment), Finance Leasing (Amendment), Inland Trust Receipts (Amendment) and Companies (Amendment).

Accordingly, the relevant bills come into effect as the Secured Transaction Act No. 17 of 2024, the Registration of Documents (Amendment) Act No. 18 of 2024, Trust Receipts (Amendment) Act No. 19 of 2024, the Mortgage (Amendment) Act No. 20 of 2024, the Lease Financing (Amendment) Act No. 21 of 2024, Inland Trust Receipts (Amendment) Act No. 22 of 2024 and Companies (Amendment) Act No. 23 of 2024 with effect from yesterday (01).
