‘Spider man’ thief robs lawyer’s seventh floor Homagama apartment

Homagama Police is investigating the burglary of the house of a lawyer working in the Attorney General’s Department. The theft has taken place

while the lawyer was away from home with her family members between 7 pm on April 4 and 7 pm on April 10, police said.

The thief had entered the house by opening the fan light in the bathroom and left the same way.

Police said that the bathrooms of the houses in this housing complex are not located facing a corridor and a senior police officer said that the thief had entered the seventh-floor house through a highly dangerous path.

They suspect that the thief may have gained experience in such activities by working in the construction or maintenance of multi-storey buildings.

Investigators added that it was almost impossible for outsiders to enter this housing complex and suspect that a person who knows this building well has committed this theft.

Two gold bangles, Rs.16,000, in cash and a wristwatch, were stolen from the house.
