Sri Lanka Expo 2026 scheduled for June after 14-year gap

The launch of Sri Lanka Expo 2026, a flagship international trade exhibition aimed at promoting Sri Lankan products and services to global buyers and investors, was held recently at the Cinnamon Life Hotel in Colombo.

The event is being organised by the Export Development Board, under the Ministry of Industry and Entrepreneurship Development, marking the return of the national expo after a gap of 14 years. Sri Lanka Expo 2026 is scheduled to be held from June 18 to 21, 2026.

The exhibition aims to introduce Sri Lankan products and services to international markets, facilitate new trade partnerships through B2B matchmaking, and strengthen Sri Lanka’s image as a reliable sourcing and investment destination.

Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Employment Arun Hemachandra addressing the gathering said Sri Lanka recorded export earnings of USD 16.2 billion in 2024 and has set a target of increasing exports to USD 36 billion by 2030 through trusted global partnerships.

He noted that Sri Lanka Expo 2026 would play a key role in expanding export activity, attracting foreign direct investment, and rebuilding stronger economic links with global markets.

During the event, the official website of the expo, srilankaexpo.lk, was also launched.

In addition, British High Commissioner to Sri Lanka Andrew Patrick was presented with a commemorative award in recognition of the United Kingdom’s support in granting duty-free access for Sri Lankan exports.

The event was attended by Minister of Industry and Entrepreneurship Development Sunil Handunnetti, Minister of Energy Kumara Jayakody, Deputy Minister of Industry and Entrepreneurship Development Chathuranga Abeysinghe, Deputy Minister of Digital Economy Eranga Weeraratne, along with Members of Parliament, diplomats, ministry secretaries and other distinguished invitees.
