Japanese Ambassador to Sri Lanka Akio Isomata said that the Japanese Government has decided to restart a number of important projects planned to be implemented in Sri Lanka, that were halted while incomplete, due to various reasons.

He said that the relevant projects will be recommenced from where they have been stopped and Sri Lanka will benefit a great deal from this.

The Japanese Ambassador was speaking to the media after receiving the blessings of the Chief Prelate of the Malwatte Chapter, Most Venerable Thibbatuwawe Sri Siddhartha Sumangala Mahanayake Thera, on Wednesday (11).

Ambassador Isomata also said that Japan is cooperating with the current Sri Lankan Government.

He emphasised that there is a great bond between the two countries, as two Buddhist countries, as well as due to the diplomatic ties between Sri Lanka and Japan. The two countries have a great role to play in promoting Buddhism at the regional level as well as beyond, the Ambassador said.
