Suspect arrested for defrauding British national of Rs. 15.5 million

The Commercial Crime Investigation Division of the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) has arrested a suspect who cheated a British national who came for a visit to Sri Lanka and defrauded him of Rs.15.5 million promising to sell him a house.

The CID stated that this money fraud has been done by stating that this British national will be given a house in the Southern Province.

A resident of Kaluwamodara, Aluthgama has been arrested on a complaint by the British national. The CID stated that the suspect is 57 years old.
