Take legal action against tax defaulters – SJB MP

SJB Parliament Member Harshana Rajakaruna said in a press conference held yesterday at the Opposition Leader’s Office that there is a group in the country that does not pay taxes even though the government increases taxes day by day.

He also said that even though some people do not pay taxes they always enjoy all the benefits provided by the government. The MP also demanded that legal action be taken against tax defaulters.

He said that there is no need to tax the innocent people and increase their burden and the government can get a lot of income if taxes are collected from the people who can pay taxes.
