Teenage girl led to become call girl by boyfriend

The Child and Women Abuse Prevention Bureau of Matara Division has uncovered an incident where a 16-year-old girl who was turned into a prostitute  by her boyfriend whom she met through Facebook had also turned a 15-year-old girl whom she met on a bus into a prostitute.

The 16-year-old student who sold the 15-year-old student as a prostitute to various people has also been arrested and seven people who had sexual relations with the 15-year-old student have also been arrested by the police as of yesterday.

This incident was revealed during an investigation regarding a complaint received that a 15-year-old girl resident of Matara Kekanadura was missing.

Matara Child and Women Abuse Prevention Bureau, who paid special attention in this regard, found this girl while staying at a hotel in Polhena, Matara.

During questioning of the girl, it was revealed that she met a friend on a bus that was going from Mirissa to Matara on April 1 and her friend had convinced her to become a prostitute as it gives a lot of money.

The police are investigating the matter and are trying to identify and arrest those who associated the two underaged girls.
