Leader of the Tamil National People’s Front, Member of Parliament Gajendran Ponnambalam said that the Tamil Eelam Liberation Organization (TELO) which boycotted the All-Party Conference (APC) summoned by President Gotabaya Rajapaksa should quit the Tamil National Alliance (TNA).
Speaking to reporters in Jaffna, Gajendran Ponnambalam said that if TELO did not participate in the APC based on the policies of the TNA and were unable to meet the President, it should definitely quit the TNA partnership.
“If,although TELO is ready to recognize the 13th Amendment to the Constitution, and the TNA is requesting another system of control which assigns power beyond that, there is contradiction in the proposals those two factions are submitting, the best alternate action to be taken by TELO at this present moment is to quit their partnership with the TNA and look to follow another path,” MP Ponnambalam said.
