Thieves rob car, gold after threatening couple

A group of thieves entered a house in Manipay, Jaffna wearing masks and had robbed 200,000 rupees, 11 sovereigns of gold and three mobile phones after placing a knife to the neck of a four-month-old baby and threatening to kill him.

The thieves also had taken a car worth around six million rupees which was parked in front of the house. At the time a young couple, owners of the house was inside with the baby and the group of thieves who came to rob the house had mentioned the name of a friend of the young man to get the door opened. Police are investigating.
