The Wattala Police Crime Division has arrested three suspects involved in the robbery of a three-wheeler and four motorcycles worth around Rs.3 Mn in Seeduwa, Ragama and Enderamulla Police areas.
One suspect was arrested last Wednesday (16), on the suspicion of dismembering three-wheelers, at Hendala, Dickowita, Awarakotuwa area. The Police succeeded in arresting two more suspects while travelling on a motorcycle using fake number plates on the following day (17) on the information received after questioning the first suspect.
At the time of arrest, the Police found that the suspects were in possession of Ice and heroin, and the Police are investigating to arrest two other suspects involved in the incident.
The first suspect was produced in the Wattala Magistrate’s Court on Thursday (17) and remanded in custody, while the remaining two suspects were produced in the Wattala Magistrate’s Court yesterday (18).
As per the instructions of OIC of Wattala Police Station, Chief Inspector Anura Gunawardena, OIC of Crime Investigation Division Chief Inspector Tharaka Wijesinghe, Sub Inspector Pramoda, Sub Inspector Senanayake, Police Sergeants Jude and Dasanayake, Police Constables Ranaweera, Dilshan and Chinthaka are conducting further investigations.
