Three PCs suspended for drunken behaviour in Kollupitiya

The Kollupitiya Police have arrested three police constables who were working for the Kollupitiya Police Station after being called to Colombo for special duty during the   New Year season for providing security in Colombo, on Saturday night for drunken and unruly behaviour.

Three police constables attached to Eachchalanpattuwa police station have been arrested.

These officers have been summoned to Colombo for security duties in the Kollupitiya Police Division from April 1 to 17. These three officers had been staying at the Kollupitiya police station quarters. Information was received that these officers, who were resting during day before yesterday (01) night, were drunk and behaving in an unruly manner while harassing other officers.

They were arrested by the officers of the Kollupitiya Police who were engaged in night duty.

A disciplinary inquiry has also been initiated against them.
