Three remanded over assault of CAA officials

Three persons who were involved in the assault on the officials of the Consumer Affairs Authority’s Kurunegala Office during a raid in Narammala were ordered to be remanded till May 10 by the Kuliyapitiya Acting Magistrate yesterday.

The officials were assaulted when they raided a farm based on information that eggs were being hoarded by the farm owner.

Police arrested two suspects who were involved in the attack initially. The farm owner got admitted to a hospital following the incident and Police arrested him at hospital.
