Three teenage women arrested for ignoring Police orders

A Senior Police officer said that the Maradana Police arrested three young women, including a young woman who drove a Defender jeep while ignoring Police orders to stop on three occasions. The Police had followed the jeep and had finally stopped it near the Tripoli grounds.

After the Police stopped the jeep, the girl who was the driver and the other girls had an argument with the Police officers.

Police arrested the three 19-year-old women and also checked whether the driver was under the influence of alcohol. It is said that the three arrested women were former students of a popular girls’ school in Colombo and are residents of Nawala and Colombo. The suspects are to be produced in Court.
