Three teens arrested over helmet assault death

Welipenna Police yesterday arrested three school students for assaulting a man to death with helmets on Tuesday night.

Those arrested are 16, Police Media Spokesman, SSP Nihal Thalduwa said.

The 34-year-old deceased, Ranga Viraj, is a father of one and he had been attacked with helmets by the suspects following an argument between the two parties at the Welipenna area, the police said.

The victim is a resident of Galmaththa in Welipenna.

Police are conducting investigations.
