Three women arrested after assault of another woman in Polonnaruwa

The Polonnaruwa Police said that five women from Ja-Ela and Weliweriya had gone to a house in Polonnaruwa and assaulted a woman.

Polonnaruwa Police had arrested three women involved in this assault yesterday (23). A-54-year-old woman is also among the arrested and she is a resident of Ja-Ela. She had alleged that her son is having an affair with the woman in Polonnaruwa who was assaulted by the women. It is said that they have become acquainted on social media.

Police said the attack took place after an exchange of words between the two groups. The police say that this incident took place on last Friday (21) and that among the other three arrested in connection with it, there are two young women aged 16 and 19 years old residing in Ja-Ela and Weliweriya.
