Thushara Ratnayake Appointed Chairperson of Sri Lanka Atomic Energy Authority

Dr. Thushara Ratnayake has been appointed as the new Chairperson of the Sri Lanka Atomic Energy Authority, following an appointment by Minister of Energy, Eng. Kumara Jayakody.

Dr. Ratnayake, who holds a PhD in Nuclear Engineering from the University of Tokyo, Japan, is the only Sri Lankan to hold such a qualification.

She currently serves as a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Electrical Engineering at the University of Moratuwa.

Her expertise in nuclear engineering is expected to play a key role in advancing Sri Lanka’s atomic energy sector.
