TO arrested for bribe in Udugama

The Bribery or Corruption Investigation Commission says that a Technical Officer (TO) of the Udugama Regional Engineering Office was arrested while accepting a bribe of Rs.5,000 from a contractor.

An official said that the suspect had promised to prepare the bills related to a contract carried out by the complainant who is a contractor in the Beruwala area. He was to make necessary arrangements for the contract recommended by the office.
