Traumatised boy found wandering after Schol ordeal

A 14-year-old student who was traumatized by his failure to pass the Grade 5 Scholarship Examination while his younger brother did, was found wandering in the Kurunegala town by the Police.

After being presented to Court, the student was referred to a shelter for traumatized children on Saturday (18). Police said the student’s mother is working abroad, so he and his younger brother have been under the care of their grandfather.The student had failed to pass the exam the previous year as well. However, when this year when his brother passed the exam his immediate family members had commended him and also had celebrated the occasion. He was traumatized by this incident and had left his home and was found by Police after being informed about the boy.
