Travel ban against Booru Muna, one other over murder

The Western Province Southern range Crime Division yesterday said that a travel ban was obtained from the Avissawella Court on Tuesday against   two suspects including Booru Muna who acted as a shooter in a series of murders.This criminal Booru Muna had escaped from the custody of Airport police last month.

These orders have been obtained by filing a report based on the information received by the investigators that the suspect is trying to flee the country under the name of Kalumini Ravindu Sanka de Silva.

He was accused of shooting and killing the owner of a restaurant in Hanwella on December 18.

When the suspect arrived at the airport to leave for Dubai on February the airport police arrested him based on the travel ban issued by the Avissawella court. However two monks who came to the police station had meticulously rescued the suspect.
