Defending champions Trinity College were crowned as champions of Under19 Division 1 Tier A Inter-Schools Limited Over’s Tournament 2023/24. Thanks to the coach for guiding the young cricketers on the correct path. He was well backed by the defending champions Trinity College side who were well guided by their coach Naveen Ekanayake he was well supported by Lakshitha Alahakoon-Assistant Coach, Bandula Pushpakumara- Trainer, Lasantha HerathPhysiotherapist, Bryan Senaratne- MIC and the person who gave the best support was the principal Rev. Fr. Araliya Jayasundara a principal like the past principals gave a big hand. Also a big hand should go to the captain of the side Manula Kularatne for leading the side well and he was well backed by cricketers like Dinusha Pieris (vice captain), Janith Warnakula, Dinuka Tennekoon, Viduka Dammage Tharana Wimaladharma, Malith Rathnayake, Kavindu Jayarthne, Lakvin Abeyasinghe, Supun Waduge, Wathila Udara, Jayavi Liyanagama, Dimantha Mahavithana, Puleesha Tilakaratne, Rajinud Thilakatne Ometh Bandara.

So, the young Trinity College cricketers have achieved a good standard and come out with a superb performance which has made their school and Kandy proud by winning the championship in a row for the second time, the team excelled with great performances.

For the second time in a row. In the final they beat St. Josephs College and the cricket lovers of present and old boys of Trinity College must be happy with the good effort of the team.It should be said that Trinity College is one of the oldest cricket playing schools in the country. Before the Second World War, Trinity not only produced several top class cricketers but also produced several invincible teams.

Trinity is a school in Kandy which provides all the facilities for the sport. They have a superb indoor net, bowling machine, and an international stadium.

In this season Trinity College beat St.Joseph’s College, by two wickets in the final worked off at Thurstan College Grounds. Trinity College’s talented leader Manula Kularatne won the toss and invited the talented St. Joseph’s College to bat first. a big hand should go to Supun Waduge who batted well and scored a match-winning knock of 60 runs in 84 balls
